Candle Care Tips

At Penn Aromas, your safety comes first. To help you enjoy your candle to the fullest, we’ve shared a few simple candle care tips for a safe and refreshing experience.

Candle Care Tips:

1.   Always trim the candle wick to ¼ inch before each use.

·     This helps reduce smoking and soot while creating a smooth and even burn.

2.   Allow the candle to reach a full melt pool.

·      When lighting your candle for the first time, let the wax melt completely to the edges of the container. This ensures an even burn, prevents tunneling, and maximizes fragrance throw.

3.   Trim the candle wick as needed.

·      A high, flickering, or smoky flame indicates it’s time
to extinguish the candle and cut the wick.

4.   Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

·     Burning for extended periods can overheat the container, creating a fire hazard and potentially causing the glass to crack or break.

5.   Keep the candle away from drafts.

·     Avoid placing candles near vents, fans, or open windows, as airflow can cause uneven burning, soot, and dripping.

6.   Always burn the candle within sight.

·     Never leave a lit candle unattended.

7.   Never burn a candle on or near flammable items.

·      Keep candles away from curtains, furniture, bedding, and other combustible materials.

8.   Place the candle on a heat-safe surface.

·      Use a heat-resistant holder or coaster to help protectsurfaces from heat damage.

9.   Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

·      Place candles where they cannot be easily reached or knocked over by children or animals.

10. Extinguish the candle properly.

·      Use a candle snuffer to prevent hot wax splatter and avoid blowing on the flame, which can be hazardous.

11. Do not move a burning candle.

·      Hot wax can make the candle unstable, leading to spills or accidents.
